Kineto Completes Patent Licensing Agreement with
Research in Motion

Kineto Wireless, Inc., the key innovator and leading supplier of fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) solutions for mobile operators, announced today it has entered into a patent licensing agreement with Research In Motion.
"This agreement demonstrates Kineto's commitment to facilitating continued widespread adoption of UMA/GAN technology in a way that encourages further innovation with 2G, 3G and LTE networks," said Rick Gilbert, president and CEO of Kineto Wireless.
The 3GPP UMA/GAN standard enables mobile operators to extend voice, data and IMS services over fixed and mobile broadband access networks. Mobile operators around the world are offering dual-mode handset, femtocell, terminal adaptor and softmobile services based on the UMA/GAN standard.
